Getting older

We’re getting older, and not just me:  the world’s population is ageing rapidly as birth rates fall and people live longer.  From a policy perspective, this raises issues about retirement, pensions, and healthcare.  From a business perspective, it changes the kinds of products you’re likely to sell.

The most provocative version I’ve run across comes from Business Week via Marginal Revolution:

Last year, for the first time, sales of adult diapers in Japan exceeded those for babies.
